Service (Deaf)
It was through GOD's grace that i actually started joining the church through its Deaf Service. Never have i imagined even in my wildest imagination that i 'gain' entry this unique way.
When i tell my friends i join the church's Deaf Service, they were astonished and amazed i could know sign language but i told them the Pastor who preaches is a hearing and hence i have no problem understanding the sermons.
The atmosphere and surroundings are completely different from hearing service. It doesn't take much to know why.
From the Deaf service in the church, i got to know some wonderful friends and esp their 'culture' (Deaf) I had wanted to learn sign language but with much regret kept forgetting what i have picked up. I felt bad when i can't communicate with the deaf friends and often have to use the handphone to help write the messages. sigh
At the deaf service though i usually sit behind, i never felt left out.
Now in church, i was given the luxury of either attending hokkien service or deaf service. My friends will say, i understand hokkien meh? Though i may attend hokkien service, i do make a point to go upstairs to mingle with my deaf friends and i can say, my friends are there instead.
