Arts Festival
It was a very hectic and tiring afternoon. Gone for a charity entertainment with some of my students @ SGH in conjunction with the ongoing Arts Festival. Since it's school holiday, i have decided to get a few of my students involved in this project to gain some outdoor exposure in this community event.
We have started later then schedule caused of the delay by the delivery. Everything seemed to be in the rushed eg set up. Oh, the place seems to change from the last time i entertained @ Specialist Outpatient Clinic (SOC) so we shifted the instrument to somewhere more prominent instead. I have to juggle between 2 different places as the piano was placed indoor (outside SOC) while the drum performances was placed near outdoor (caused of the early morning showers)
Started the piano entertainment first with my student playing a few songs before i took over. As usual, i never fail to play a few songs on my list. There was a kind lady who brought 2 bars of chocolate for me and went off before i could thank her. There were also a few nice and encouraging words from onlookers.
My little disciple was also there to support me and as usual she will buy me my favourite biscuits.
This time, i have to cut my entertainment shorter then usual as i have to rush to another place to help set up the drum performance put up by 3 of my school students. Hence, i left my student to take over the piano until he called later and said that he has got no more songs to play. (hee hee)
Oh, this time, there was an improvement from him as he didn't show any 'signs' when he hit the wrong notes. That's the way it should be ...........
Beside our entertainment, there were other events such as Indian dance, Handicraft ........put up by other volunteers.
It was a good experience for my drum students and also to showcase what they have learned during the lessons.
Had a debrief with the organisor after the show and we agreed on how to fine tune future activities.
After packing up, it was already 3+. Came back to work and had lunch with one of my student.
To my students and one of their parent, thank you for your contributions and support to the event.
Oh, i am feeling so tired now. Old already liao ...............
Can't imagine if i were to run one more place ...............
