Labrador Park

Photo was taken @ Labrador Park. The picture in front is Harbour Front. See the cable cars?
This picture was taken on top of Labrador Park. The view was magnificent and great. Feel top of the world. Too bad, the jetty was closed for renovation. The water a little choopy as it was drizzling a little then.

At the hill top of Labrador Park overlooking at the park below.
Visited Labrador Park with my friend LV yesterday morning. The weather was cooling and it drizzled a little. Always enjoy mother nature and its waters.
Walked the trail right up to the top and enjoyed the beautiful view.

Rasa Sayang

Heard of this song? It means "Feelings of Love"
I find the song very smoothing and nice. It depicts a certain Asian favours and culture.

Recently, there are 2 countries 'arguing' for the rights of this song.
Malaysia has used this song during their Malaysia Truly Asia tourism campaign but Indonesia has said that they have the rights to the song with an Indonesian minister threatening to sue Malaysia for copyright violation of the song.
The song has in recent weeks affected relations between the 2 countries.

Ms Dwi Anita Daruherdani (intellectual property rights consultant) urged Jakarta to ask K L to stop using the song in the campaign. She said some parties in Indo. had produced a number of exhibits to prove that the song is a cultural product of the country's ethnic population groups.
It noted that Maluka Governor Albert Ralahalu claimed to have information on the song's composer, Paulus Pea

"If, based on written evidence, Paulus Pea is really the song's composer, the next thing we need to pay attention to is the time span of the protection to be given to the creation"
"If the composer was not known, then the state would hold the song's copyright. If Indonesia wanted to own the copyright, it must show evidence" (said Ms Daruherdani)

Baptism

After the successful Weekend Encounter, it's Post Encounter, School of Leadership (SOL) .............. and most important Baptise and become the true child of GOD.

This is held at the last weekend of every month eg Sat
For me, i shall probably be baptise @ Marine Parade (during Hokkien Service) and the earliest would be either be 24 Nov or 29 Dec (i think)
It would be great to 'do it' during Christmas time eg birth of Jesus but if it's 29 Dec then i am afraid i may have to give it a miss as i may have to help a friend in her worship for the Deaf Service that evening.

What about the 1st month of next year (2008) to kick off the New Year?
Now it's either Nov 2007 or Jan 2008? Guess the latter will be more significant .............
Don't know when will my room mate Richard will be baptise? But i do know Othman will have it next month. (haha)

Changi Village Hotel

This hotel used to be known as Changi Meridian Hotel before it was sold to Far East Organisation and then it was refurbished till today.

If i am not wrong, this was the first time i was staying at a local hotel last weekend (church Weekend Encounter). Nothing beats the comfort of my bed and 'friends' ...........(haha)

Believed it's the only hotel around Changi Village and it's popular with tourist as it was near to the airport.

It's an 8 story high hotel and the pictures were taken from the last floor beside the swimming pool. The view there was breathtaking and great except for some huge trees blocking in front.

Is that 'island' Tekong or some parts of Malaysia?

Remembering during the late 80's i used to come (3 mths) to the jetty to take the RPL to Pulau Tekong for BMT. The feeling is great to come back again after so many years eg to relax

There are also coffee shops, restaurants and a hawker centre that offers a wide variety of food for your taste buds.

Hope to be able to be back soon to further explore the place.

Encounter Weekend (20-21 Oct)

Woke up early on sun to attend my first ever church camp or Encounter Weekend from 20 to 21 Oct. Still feeling sleepy from yesterday's wedding entertainment. It was raining cats and dogs while i was on my way to Changi.

20 Oct
When i reached Changi Village Hotel, the morning was fine. Thank GOD
The session started with worship, which they would, to praise and worship GOD before every Encounter (topic or teaching)
There were about 17 participants and beside not forgetting Pastor Chan and some of his 12 who were conducting the teachings. The oldest was i think about 60+ while the youngest 20+
We were shown a short video clip from the Passion of Christ where our Jesus was nailed and died for us on the Cross. This video played a very important part on my encounter on Sun.

Sadden to say, most of the day i was feeling sleepy during the teaching, probably due to sleeping at 0200 hrs the day before. (Sorry) The most interesting teaching for the day was the Breaking of the Curses which i surely needed it to overcome all the worries, problems, anxiety ...........that i had in me.

The day other teachings included Repentence, Joy of Forgiveness, Plan of Redemption.

Dinner was out, went with my room mate, Richard to the nearby hawker centre and we were joined by another brother in Christ. Took a walked to the Changi Jetty after dinner. The evening was fine and pleasant. Enjoy the sea view and scenery. I always like to look at the sea and feel the breeze of the wind.
Another worship and teaching before we called the night off at 2130 hrs.
Stayed in the room, watch TV and chat with my room mate .......................

21 Oct
Woke up 0700 hrs and had breakfast. Was joined by other brothers later.
This was a better day as i was freshen from last's night early rest. The day begun with worship ..............
Had a very fruitful and blessful day compared to the day before. A teaching which i 'needed' was the Healing of the Soul whereby we prayed and told GOD that we would like to forgive certain people or incidents that had an adverse impact in our lives. This was to ask and seek relief and certainly to move on with lives.
Yes, it was truth when Pastor said that those who have hurted us in one way or the other might not even know that they have. We may have to 'hold' this load and it hinders us. Pastor taught me how to pray for healing .............

Remembered about my previous day video? It came into play during the teaching of Baptism of the Holy Spirit whereby we were 'taught' to pray and experience the speaking in tongue. YES indeed for the first time in my life as i was praying, i begun not only to speak in tongue, i also saw white and shining light and the image of Jesus dying on the Cross and HIM smiling at me on the Cross. That was probably my first encounter with the mighty LORD.
There were two brothers administering to me and one of them was Pastor Patrick (my spiritual Grandfather) He has come just in the nick of time to pray for and with me.
Thank him for taking his time off after service to 'support' me.

The day other teachings included Water Baptism, Family and Vision for Success.

We ended the session @ 1800hrs where there were testimonies from my brothers in Christ.
Were told that we would get baptise next month (don't know when) One brother was so eager that he told us he was disappointed of not having one on the Encounter as he has already brought his extra clothing. (haha) Soon soon lah brother Othman.

Came back to office after the encounter ended successfully and richly.
Would like to thank Ps Caleb, his 12 eg Francis, James, Chye Peng, Conrad, Stephen, Gary ..........and not forgetting Ps Patrick.
Next? Post Encounter but it's stay in (i think)
Finally, Thank and Praise GOD for the wonderful Encounter with HIM

Club Chinois

Had a wedding entertainment @ Club Chinois last fri (19th Oct) evening. This restaurant inside Orchard Parade Hotel is an arm of Tung Lok Group.

It was a small scale dinner of about 10 tables. Played my songs @ about 1930 hrs when the guests started coming in. The relatives and families proceeded to a room whereby the newly wed will 'receive wishes' from their elders. Then the couple got solemnised before the dinner begun.

It was unlike the conventional chinese wedding dinner. Each guest had their own serving of food and dishes to themselves. Could see that the food were quite 'unique'. Didn't had wine that night caused i was having mild headache (haha) so only drank orange juice.
Realised the bride is from Hong Kong, her family and a few relatives came down to witness the wedding.

The only request i had was Today by the late John Denver but have not heard of the song. (sorry) so i played Take Me Home Country Road instead.
Played for about 4 set before calling it the night. Have some guests thanking me for the music. Another job done. (haha)

To Mark and Sharon : Congratulations & May GOD Bless You

Surprise Visit

Have a surprise visitor today. It was my 'spiritual father' (from church) who dropped by to visit my new shop.

Showed him around my humble place. We spoked about my Weekend Encounter tommorrow and then had coffee before we parted. Invited him for my entertainment @ Red Cross Home for the Disabled next month where the church also conduct 'activities' for the residents eg sunday service.

He was the first guest from the church to visit my new shop.
Thank you, Tommy
GOD bless you.

'Meeting'

Gone out with a friend yesterday............
As we were about to go for coffee, he saw his ex wife from afar. Asked if wanted to acknowledge but he declined as she was with her husband (he thinks) We just stood there and looked at that direction. He didn't murmur a word .........

They may have been separated for a year already but i understand he still feels for her. It's never easy to let a love one go though there is a saying, "if you love her (him), let her (him) go"
Easier said than done right?
However, if there is a change of heart, it's pointless carrying on. Humans or rather feelings are so complicated and complex right? We will never know what the other person think........???
He is glad she has found a new love of her life, someone whom is able to give her happiness and joy.

My friend may have picked up the pieces and moved on with life but i know deep inside, his heart is always with her.
It brings me to a question, "to love or to be loved"? (which do you prefer)

Au Petit Salut

Entertained at a private function dinner @ Au Petit Salut last night.
It's a french restaurant situated @ the old CMPB (opposite Botanic Garden) My friend says that the restaurant is more popular for its wine.

Beside the host for the night, i was the first to arrive, (must lor as i was going there to work) then the guests started coming in. There were about 20 of them and they were made to sit away from their spouse so that they could mingle and get to know the other guests.

Entertained a wide array of songs which ranges from malay, chinese, japanese to english. During the second set, i decided to entertain some christain songs such as Give Thanks, As the Deer, What a Friend We have In Jesus, How Great is the LORD ........and not forgetting Amazing Grace.

Saw the dishes on the table. Big but the serving were little. Typical of fine dining.
Managed to taste the dessert (don't know what's call) and drank white wine (one glass that lasted me the whole evening)
Played for 4 sets before calling the night off. Then it was home sweet home to have chocolate (hungry lor)

Praise GOD i managed to last throughout the night without any hic cup.

Hari Raya

Brought an oversea friend to visit Geylang Serai for the Hari Raya last night. We met after my work and reached there about 2200hrs.

As expected many people were there to soak in the festive atmosphere. Not surprisingly, many were Malays, dining, drinking and strolling the various stores.
Well, we were basically there to squeeze and to be squeeze by others. Brought LV to visit Malay Village but seemed that the focus wasn't there as it was quiet inside except for the food stores.
She brought somethings for her children to play which she hasn't tried. Don't know the name for it but it was those sticks that can ignite when lighted up and some do gives out sound. Maybe 'Mini firework' (haha) She also brought some local titbits and foodstuffs for her husband.
Left the place at 0000hrs, just in time for Hari Raya. (yeh)

We then proceeded to have supper before parting.
Wow, that was the first time, i 'celebrated' Hari Raya.
Little India was also lighted up yesterday. If she is in town then, i shall surely bring her to walk Serangoon Road.

Entertainment

It was long since i last entertain at a wedding.
Had one to entertain next friday @ a hotel in Orchard. A small scale dinner.

Always a mix feelings playing for any wedding parties or receptions.
Happy for the couple but sadden for myself.
However, i always enjoy entertaining others with my music / songs. Was reminded by the host to play happy, lively and not sad songs. (Haha)

My sincere blessings to the newly wed though i may not know who they are. I think the host is a mum of either the bride or bridegroom.
Well, thank GOD for getting me to entertain, earn a little money for my church's Encounter Weekend the next day.

Will i ever walk down the 'red carpet'? Keep praying .....................

"GOD, i pray ..........."

Heard from 2 long 'seen' friends today.

Received a call as she doesn't know who had sent her a birthday greeting last week. She told me she has been in hospital for a while and hence missed my message.
I asked what happened and misconstruned it to be liver failure. Was shocked when i asked her what stage already and she answered 'last'
As i intend to visit her, i asked which hospital is she warded and heave a sigh of relief when she told me it is IMH. Thank GOD, least it's NOT liver failure and realised it's schizophrenia.
Asked her to pray and GOD will heal her.
"GOD, I pray that YOU will heal my friend of her sickness and will recover from her ordeal soon. All these i pray in Jesus name, Amen."

Was pleasantly surprised when another friend dropped an email to ask about my mum and my well being.
Thank you for that little greetings and it means a lot to me.
"GOD, i pray that YOU bless this friend of mine with good health, happiness and success. All these i pray in Jesus name, Amen."

Long Lost

Came to work earlier as my colleague needed to go off. I stood outside the shop, just then a very familier face caught my eyes but i couldn't confirm till i approached her.

It was a long lost friend or should i say my secondary school friend's ex wife. Got to know her through my school friend whom i have also lose touch eversince they got divorce early 2000. The last i hear was he was in China ..........
I don't know the actual reason for their separation till i met her today as they have been together for more than 10 years before they got married. Both the couple have been very closed to my family and me as they have been involved in a lot of my family activities in the past.
I have loan some money to my friend to help him out in his predicament and that was the last i heard of him.

The riddle has finally been solved.
Was sadly told my friend has a mistress from China and what was shocking, he already 'had' her before they got hitch. Indeed, I was kept in the dark for a long long time too.
She further said she saw him last year in Singapore but why didn't he come look for me after this more than 20 years of friendship?? Money perhaps. sigh

I was pleased to learn that she is also preparing to get marry again hence was here to look for furniture.
Hope GOD will bless her marriage this time.
With regards to my friend ..................don't know when will i see or bump into him??

? ? ?

Today is one of those days that doesn't seem 'right'
Gone to my accountant office and submitted the accounts, waited for him for half an hour. Lunch with him ............

3 teachers lessons were cancelled due to some reasons or the other, some from the students while others from the teachers ..........
Sent a few emails out but they 'bounced' (returned), don't know what was wrong.
Was 'reminded' to put up something which i thought could 'siam' after the recent announcement, waste money again .........
Called my friend but he was needed at home
Restless and no mood ........../?/?/?
Tomorrow ??

Renovations

There were many concerned friends, students and parents asking me the same questions for the past few days. Been struggling for a while and finally have taken the 'gamble' to remain in the same building, i shall leave the rest to GOD's hands

Thank GOD. The renovations have completed today. Will no doubt miss the two Burma workers ............
Will kick off another chapter from here and hopefully with GOD's grace and mercy, HE will bless Melody.

Dear Father LORD, i shall leave Melody in your safe hands.
